Sugar prices may become as volatileas oil's

WORLD sugar prices may become as volatile as those of petroleum products because of growing global demand for ethanol, the private watchdog group Consumer Oil Price Watch (COPW) said.

Ethanol is being mixed with gasoline to save on motor fuel costs. It is also considered to be environment-friendly.
